One movie coming out this summer that I can’t decide if I’m excited for or not is RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES. On one hand, I’m sick of the prequels/sequels and Apes is a franchise that has been dead for a long time, so this falls into the “I don’t care” category. But on the other hand, the trailer makes it look pretty fun and even though it’s a prequel, at least they take the Apes franchise somewhere we’ve never seen it before. I actually like the idea of revisiting the franchise and telling an origins story. I’m just hoping the final product pays off.
James Franco, Tom Felton (the HARRY POTTER franchise), Freida Pinto, Andy Serkis, Brian Cox and John Lithgow all star in the film. The Rupert Wyatt directed film hits theaters this summer on August 5th.
