Of all the movies on deck this summer, the film I’ve been most surprised with so far is the remake of FRIGHT NIGHT. By all calculations, this film should be horrible, but despite the odds, it actually looks pretty decent. Yeah, by now we’re all sick of vampires and we’ve been sick of remakes for quite some time, but FRIGHT NIGHT has a good vibe to it and I like what I’ve seen so far. My only concern is about labeling this film a horror/comedy because it doesn’t seem very funny so far. And even though I’m not Anton Yelchin’s biggest fan, he’s surrounded by a good cast that includes a creepy Colin Farrell and a cool looking David Tennant.
Along with Farrell, Tenant and Yelchin, the film stars Imogen Poots, Christopher Mintz-Plasse and Toni Colette. Craig Gillespie is directing the film that hits theaters on August 19th.
