Dwayne Johnson wants to join Channing Tatum in G.I. Joe 2

It looks like Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is continuing with his trend of joining franchises for sequels that don’t need to be made.  The former wrestler but current actor looks set to star as Roadblock in the upcoming sequel to G.I. JOE: RISE OF COBRA.  So far, no one is confirmed for the sequel, but it has been assumed all along that Channing Tatum, Ray Park and Lee Byung-Hun would all be returning as Duke, Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow respectively.  Jon M. Chu (JUSTIN BIEBER: NEVER SAY NEVER) is on board to direct.

After the initial story, Johnson tweeted: “We’ve read your comments, We know what you want. ‘..and knowing is half the battle.’ It’s on!”  I find those tweets disturbing because they imply that the actor feels people want him to do the sequel.  I wouldn’t say I care one way or the other about his involvement, but I can’t say I’m incredibly excited about a sequel.  The first film was so bad they’d be better off starting from scratch.
