Eminem may team-up with Antoine Fuqua for boxing film, Southpaw

While there are still many details to be worked out, it looks like Eminem and Antoine Fuqua may be teaming up for boxing film, SOUTHPAW. The drama is written and conceived by SONS OF ANARCHY creator Kurt Sutter.

The film tells the story of a left handed boxer whose life is constantly marked by tragedy even as he’s fought his way to a title and will have several parallels to struggles in Eminem’s own life. Even though Eminem hasn’t had a major role in a film since 2002’s 8 MILE, which was also influenced by the rapper’s rocky road to stardom. While the artist did seem to disappear for awhile, the success of his latest album “Recovery” has proven that he’s just as relevant as he was ten years ago.

The LA Times mentions that Fuqua has stepped off the Tupac Shakur biopic that he was slated to direct. If or when that will see the light of development day is unknown.
