Megan Fox might have been fired from Transformers by Steven Spielberg

If we take a trip back to before filming began on TRANSFORMERS: DARK OF THE MOON, Megan Fox said this about her TRANSFORMERS director Michael Bay: “[Bay] wants to be like Hitler on his sets, and he is. So he’s a nightmare to work for but when you get him away from set, and he’s not in director mode, I kind of really enjoy his personality because he’s so awkward, so hopelessly awkward.” At the time, Bay posted a few things on his site and repeatedly said he didn’t care, but then Fox suddenly quit/got fired from the third film.  Flash forward to today when the war between Megan Fox and Michael Bay got a little more drama (I didn’t think that was possible) when Michael Bay reportedly told Britain’s Daily Mail “You know the Hitler thing. Steven (Spielberg) said, fire her right now”.

So this kind of changes the outlook we had on the situation, which was always that Bay fired Fox because he thought she was a pain in the arse.  But it makes sense because I never really thought Bay was the type to be sensitive to what a young actress rattled off to a newspaper.  But apparently, the orders came directly from producer Steven Spielberg himself, who was offended when Fox likened Bay to Hitler (that makes sense to me).

So what does all of this mean?  Nothing at all.  Megan Fox is famous because of TRANSFORMERS and I’m sure DARK OF THE MOON will be just as explosive and over-the-top without her.  But it’s nice to get a little closure on the events.
