I love the feeling you get when you watch a really great trailer for a film you’re really excited to see. I don’t see how anyone cannot get that feeling after watching the French trailer for MISSION IMPOSSIBLE: GHOST PROTOCOL. Yes, the trailer is in French and yes, it’s a bootleg from a French theater, but it’s still incredible. The action, the story, the direction; all great. And Tom Cruise looks as awesome as ever. If I sound excited, it’s because I am. Hopefully, this will quiet all the critics that were quick to write off Tom Cruise after KNIGHT AND DAY.
Of course, we can expect an English version of the trailer very soon. Like, maybe in a few hours soon. No studio likes to see the first impression of their big budget film hit American audiences in a foreign language. MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE: GHOST PROTOCOL (still hate the name) opens in theaters on December 16th, 2011 and stars: Tom Cruise, Jeremy Renner, Paula Patton, Simon Pegg and Josh Holloway.
UPDATE: Apparently, Paramount feels the same way I do and they don’t want your first impression of MI4 to be with a crappy French bootleg trailer, which is why they made me take it down. So hopefully the English version is on the way soon.
