TINKER TAILOR SOLDIER SPY has a very good shot at being on my top ten list for 2011 as I just love a good spy/espionage film. Based on the novel by John le Carré, the story focuses on an undercover spy who reaches the top levels of British intelligence. As with all good spy movies, there are bound to be twists and turns that will keep you on your toes. TINKER TAILOR SOLDIER SPY is being directed by Tomas Alfredson and stars: Gary Oldman, Tom Hardy, Colin Firth, Mark Strong, John Hurt, Benedict Cumberbatch and Kathy Burke. It opens in theaters on November 19, 2011.
I actually like this poster below even though it features Gary Oldman and not Tom Hardy (I’m in a bit of a Tom Hardy phase right now). I like how the photo is made up of code, it’s a nice subtle touch that makes you really think after you walk by it in a theater lobby. Since this is the international version I’ll be interested to see how the U.S. one looks. Want to bet that it will feature Tom Hardy front and center regardless of whether or not the story focuses on him? Sometimes Hollywood is a little too predictable.
