Glee's Darren Criss will join Kristen Wiig and Annette Bening in Imogene

The Glee kids are slowly making their way out of the high school hallways into the movie world and the latest warbler to land a gig is Darren Criss who plays Blaine Anderson on the show. He will make his leap onto the big screen in the upcoming dramedy IMOGENE alongside Kristen Wiig and Annette Bening. The film follows a playwright (Wiig) who fakes a suicide attempt in order to gain some attention from her ex-boyfriend. Unfortunately, her act lands her in the custody of her mother who is described as, “a ‘Jersey Shore’ mother…Her outfits, her makeup. She’s the mother who’s a little inappropriate all the time, nothing is ever too much.” Criss will play Wiig’s love interest in the film. Filming for IMOGENE is supposed to start later this summer with a release sometime in 2013.

I haven’t actually watched any of the second season of Glee, so I haven’t seen Darren Criss in action. However, any young actor or actress who has a chance to work alongside these women and are ready to learn from them will gain a great deal of knowledge and should deliver an awesome performance.
