Smallville comes to life in set photos from Zack Snyder's Man of Steel

Production for Zack Snyder’s upcoming Superman reboot, MAN OF STEEL, is underway and today we get to see a first glimpse of what appears to be the Kent farmhouse and the front of Smallville High School complete with buses. There’s also a shot of a semi in a field, I have no idea what that is supposed to be, but I’m pretending it belongs to the government for the scene when they are trying to track down Clark Kent’s space ship…or it could just be a prop trailer. Sadly, these scenes are being shot in Plano, Illinois instead of Kansas (where Smallville is supposed to be), which bums me out a little but what can you do. Apparently we just don’t have enough corn or wheat fields for the cast and crew to romp around in, but that’s ok, no hard feelings.

MAN OF STEEL is set to open in theaters on June 14, 2013. Zack Snyder will be directing a cast that includes: Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Diane Lane, Kevin Costner, Michael Shannon, Russell Crow, Julia Ormond, Antje Traue and Christopher Meloni.

I’m still skeptical about this film only because I’m not a huge Snyder fan, but I’m keeping my fingers crossed that he stays true to the mythology and doesn’t do too many crazy special effects.
