Bradley Cooper and Robert De Niro may replace Mark Wahlberg in The Silver Linings Playbook

David O. Russell’s next project seems to be undergoing some major changes. Right on the heels of announcing that Jennifer Lawrence was the frontrunner for the female lead (she beat out every other actress for the part), it looks like Mark Wahlberg will have to back out of the film due to scheduling issues. No worries though, this is a strong script and Bradley Cooper seems to be willing to take the part on (he was actually attached early on) and there’s even a role for his LIMITLESS buddy Robert De Niro (who has not confirmed whether or not he will join).
THE SILVER LININGS PLAYBOOK follows Pat (Cooper), a former high school teacher who has just been released from a mental institution into the care of his mother. While he’s trying to get back on his feet, he meets his recently widowed next door neighbor (Lawrence) who is having some issues of her own. They soon become friends and a romance starts to blossom.
Shooting for THE SILVER LINING PLAYBOOK is supposed to start shooting this fall, we’ll let you know if there are any more cast changes afoot.
