Emile Hirsch and Olivia Thirlby fight off electric aliens in the new trailer for The Darkest Hour

A new alien invasion film from director Chris Gorak is coming to theaters this winter called THE DARKEST HOUR. The film follows a group of young adults who are trying to survive an alien invasion, but there’s a twist…it takes place in Russia. I didn’t say it was a good twist. The cast will include: Emile Hirsch, Rachael Taylor, Olivia Thirlby, Joel Kinnaman and Max Minghella. THE DARKEST HOUR comes to theaters on December 23, 2011.
Normally I love a good alien invasion film, but the ones recently (COWBOYS & ALIENS, SKYLINE and BATTLE: LOS ANGELES) have pretty much left me less than thrilled. I was even bored in some cases. However, THE DARKEST HOUR actually looks pretty good. It looks suspenseful and well done, oh and we don’t get to see the aliens which is always a bonus.
