Bridget Jones's Diary 3 is coming soon
Posted by: Kristy Sturdivant
The book BRIDGET JONES’S DIARY from Helen Felding was made into a film way back in 2001 and became wildly popular. Then in 2004 a sequel was made entitled BRIDGET JONES: THE EDGE OF REASON, which also raked in $262 million worldwide. So I suppose it’s no surprise that Title Films has been wanting to move forward with another installment, and it appears it is now the time to do so. There’s no confirmation that our three stars (Renee Zellweger, Colin Firth and Hugh Grant) will return, but Mr. Firth did talk about potential plot points for the upcoming film, which one could only assume means he’s coming back. Here’s what he said about the story, “I can tell you that Bridget and Mark can’t have children, I think that’s the way it goes on. So then she makes the huge mistake of going back to Daniel Cleaver [Grant’s character] for long enough to get pregnant. And I think he dumps her, and she’s left stranded, and guess who comes back to rescue her?” Intriguing and I really think that could work.
It’s been reported that Helen Felding is indeed working on a third book in the series as well as on the screenplay. Though she adds, ” I will be working on both the book and the film but I don’t know if they are the same thing yet. It’s not been decided.”
So here’s my question to you dear readers, do you want to revisit the BRIDGET JONES’S DIARY franchise? Has it been too long, and if not, do you mind that Bridget may be married and pregnant?
