Jason Bateman and Melissa McCarthy will get together for ID Theft

Two of the biggest comedians this summer have to be Jason Bateman (THE CHANGE-UP and HORRIBLE BOSSES) and Melissa McCarthy (who had a breakout performance in BRIDESMAIDS). It looks like the two will team up for the upcoming comedy ID THEFT which will be written by Steve Conrad and Craig Mazin and produced by Scott Stuber and Jason Bateman. Interestingly enough, the script was originally written for two guys, where one steals the identity of the other. However, after watching McCarthy’s brilliant turn in BRIDESMAIDS, Bateman decided to bring her to the film to take on the role of the identity thief. The film will start shooting next April when McCarthy goes on hiatus from her show Mike and Molly.

I think this is a perfect pairing. I’ve loved Melissa McCarthy since watching her in the Gilmore Girls and Jason Bateman has impressed me so much over the last couple of years, that he’s become my new Hollywood crush. I can’t wait to see these two in a film together and I’ll let you know of any additional news that comes out.
