Ridley Scott will return to direct the next Blade Runner

Well isn’t this a nice surprise? Ridley Scott will return to direct the world of BLADE RUNNER.
The good thing is that this is not a remake of the original. It’s actually a follow-up to the 1982 film. There is no inclination on whether it will be a prequel or a sequel as of yet but it will be new, original material from Scott. Can I just get a collective sigh of relief from everyone on this news? Here we thought that the film was going to be a remake and were scared of the hands it would fall into. Now we have Scott back and it’s going to be a new story.
One thing you shouldn’t anticipate is the return of Harrison Ford. Maybe Michael Fassbender will get the lead in this one.
There are no writers on board yet but Alcon Entertainment is currently seeking out someone for the job. If Scott’s involved, good writing talent should soon follow.
