Jim Sturgess gets on board for The Wachowski's Cloud Atlas

In my opinion, Jim Sturgess has a ton of potential especially after seeing THE WAY BACK. I know he’s been in a couple of other movies but if you haven’t had the chance to check out that film then you are missing out. I have yet to catch his performance in ONE DAY but I’m slightly frightened due to the not so great reviews that its been getting.

Someone, or shall I say a couple of someone’s, have noticed the potential of Sturgess as well. The Wachowski’s have brought the actor on board for their latest project, CLOUD ATLAS. Sturgess will join an already stellar cast consisting of  Tom Hanks, Hugo Weaving, Ben Whishaw, Halle Berry, Susan Sarandon, Jim Broadbent.

The story is adapted from David Mitchell’s novel which has six separate plots set in different times which will all come together at some point. Each actor in the film will play more than one character which will be quite a challenge for some. Sturgess said this on the film, ”[All the actors] play a few characters, it’s very clever what [the directors are] gonna try and do. I’m really really really excited about it. I think it’s going to be bonkers, it’s either going to work or it’s not. I’m really excited to see if we can pull it off, because it’s ambitious what they want to do. And it’s nice, you feel like no one’s ever done that in a film before, it’s like rep theater on a sort of giant movie scale.”
