Gabriel Iglesias joins Alex Pettyfer, Joe Manganiello and Channing Tatum in Magic Mike

I’m barely 10 pounds overweight, but if I were an actor, there’s no way I’d be seen in a movie starring some of the most toned actors in Hollywood. But kudos to overweight comedian Gabriel Iglesias for not caring and taking on the role of a DJ at the strip club where the strippers do their thing. And just who will be stripping at this club? The list keeps growing, but so far we have Alex Pettyfer, Channing Tatum, Joe Manganiello (the werewolf from ‘True Blood’), Matt Bomer and Matthew McConaughey. The film is actually based on the real life exploits of Channing Tatum when he worked as a stripper in Florida when he was 19 years-old. Oh, and the movie does have a few female stars in it, including Cody Horn and Riley Keough.
Steven Soderbergh is taking on the project and if nothing else, I’m curious how he’s going to make a movie about male strippers, given the nature of the profession and the way the MPAA slams an NC-17 rating on movies with male nudity. But Soderbergh is one of the best, so I’m sure it will work out.
