The next film for the Coen Brothers receives a title and some additional details

Posted by: Zack Bruce

When the Coen Brothers announce that they are ready to move on to a new project, film fans become automatically excited despite no prior knowledge of what the project may be. The Brothers could say that they were going to direct the big-screen adaptation of FRAGGLE ROCK and I’m sure people would be intrigued. I know I would.

The next flick up for the Coens has nothing to do with puppets or children’s themes, it’s actually about the folk scene in New York with a more specific concentration on a character named, Llewyn Davis.

Well, the film now has a title– INSIDE LLEWYN DAVIS. The script is an original one written by the Coens and focuses on Davis as a struggling musician discovering the folk scene of the 1960s.

When news of this project first hit, it was thought that the film would be about folk musician Dave van Ronk and the Greenwich Village scene. Ronk was a huge staple during his time serving as a storyteller, political activist, and a man who found musicians like Bob Dylan and Joni Mitchell. Will Llewyn Davis and Ronk cross paths? Or is Davis a character inspired by Ronk? I expect to hear something from the Coens on the project soon enough.
