Hugh Grant joins Tom Hanks and Halle Berry in Cloud Atlas

One of the more interesting projects on the horizon is CLOUD ATLAS from The Wachowskis and director Tom Tykwer. I haven’t read the famous book from David Mitchell, but the story is confusing in that it starts on a boat in 1850 and spans into a Science-fiction type world. Early reports from some of the stars involved say that they’re not going to be playing typical characters and each actor involved will be playing a race/gender different from their own. Not only that, but each actor will be playing multiple roles. It sounds both crazy and ambitious, but I can’t wait to see what they have in store.

Joining the film is Hugh Grant, who at one time was a huge star, but has removed himself from the limelight over the past several years. But perhaps he’s ashamed of DID YOU HEAR ABOUT THE MORGANS and now he wants to make amends. He joins a cast that includes Tom Hanks, Halle Berry, Susan Sarandon, Jim Sturgess, Ben Whishaw, Jim Broadbent and Bae Doona.
