Michael Fassbender teams up again with Steve McQueen for Twelve Years a Slave

Michael Fassbender is quickly becoming a hot commodity in Hollywood. He’s snagging up all these great roles and deserves every single one of them. It’s hard to believe that everyone first saw him in 300. I was talking to a friend the other day about Fassbender taking part in that movie and my friend completely forgot. With roles in X-MEN: FIRST CLASS, A DANGEROUS METHOD, and the soon to come, PROMETHEUS it won’t be long before everyone knows his name.

Fassbender is also still doing low-key roles like the recent one he had in SHAME starring opposite Carey Mulligan and 2008s HUNGER with Steve McQueen at the helm. Now he’ll be teaming up with McQueen again for TWELVE YEARS A SLAVE. The film centers on true story of Solomon Northup, a free black man who became enslaved. Chiwetel Ejiofor (INSIDE MAN) will play Northup.

The role that Fassbender is set to play is being kept under wraps. The script was written by McQueen and John Ridley (RED TAILS) and will begin production in early 2012.
