I think the movie-world is anxiously waiting to see if the Harry Potter stars can make it on their own without Hogwarts behind them. Personally, I think Emma Watson has the best shot of all of them to break free of the HP curse, but we still need to see her in a film. One film that should give us a good idea is THE PERKS OF BEING A WALLFLOWER, which is a coming of age film covering the year in a life of a teenager dealing with drugs, sex and abuse. I’m a big fan of coming of age films and I’ve heard nothing but good things about the book, so this is high on my radar.
The film stars Emma Watson, Logan Lerman, Mae Whitman, Nina Dobrev (from TV’s ‘Vampire Diaries’), Paul Rudd and Johnny Simmons. The Stephen Choblosky directed film (who also wrote the book the film is based on) hits theaters in 2012.
