Armie Hammer to star with Eric Bana in By Virtue Fall

Armie Hammer has had a pretty decent run the last 18 months. After getting critical acclaim for THE SOCIAL NETWORK and so far this year he’s lined up MIRROR, MIRROR and then THE LONE RANGER with Johnny Depp. Not too shabby for someone that was a relative unknown 18 months ago. Next up for the actor is BY VIRTUE FALL, which promises to be his most challenging role yet. He’ll play an ATF agent that gets framed for a crime, goes to prison, but emerges from prison a hardened, bitter man that’s set on revenge. The focus of his revenge will be his former partner, to be played by Eric Bana.

This sounds like a nice change of pace for Hammer and should give him a shot to show off some of his acting skills, which he showed in Clint Eastwood’s J. EDGAR. True, it sounds a little pedestrian, but if done well, it could be a fun time. BY VIRTUE FALL is set to be directed by Sheldon Turner.
