Jason Segel is probably riding high right now after his very successful job in returning The Muppets to film glory. Things look to be getting even better for the comedian with the recent trailer for his next rom-com THE FIVE-YEAR ENGAGEMENT. The film is about a young couple (played by Segel and Emily Blunt) that get engaged and then go through a series of obstacles as they try to plan and have their wedding. The trailer indicates that the film is going to rely heavily on the charm of Blunt and Segel, which is okay by me because both of them are extremely charming. All in all, it looks like a good time at the theater.
Along with Segel and Blunt, the film stars Alison Brie, Chris Pratt, Mindy Kaling and Jackie Weaver (yes, the same Weaver from ANIMAL KINGDOM). Frequent Segel collaborator Nicholas Stoller (FORGETTING SARAH MARSHALL, GET HIM TO THE GREEK) is directing the film that’s due to hit theaters on April 27th, 2012.
