Johnny Depp will indeed make a cameo in 21 Jump Street

Right on the heels of catching a first glimpse of the film 21 JUMP STREETstarring Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum, we are confirming that Johnny Depp will make a cameo. It was touch and go there for awhile as Camp A said yes we’d love to have him and Camp B said sure, I’d love to do it, but nothing was ever set in stone until now. During a recent press conference for PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: ON STRANGER TIDES, Mr. Depp said, “It all got sorted out. I went and did my bit as I was hoping to, and it worked out really well. It was really fun. I got to spend some time with Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum and the wonderful directors on that. It was a great experience.” 21 JUMP STREET is being directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller and will be released in theaters March 16, 2012.
Although I’m not a huge fan of 21 JUMP STREET, I’m glad everyone was able to get themselves together and make this happen. It’ll be worth seeing the film just to watch Johnny Depp revisit the show that put him on the map.
