Diane Kruger joins Saoirse Ronan in The Host from Twilight author Stephenie Meyer

With THE TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN PART 2 set to release later this year, author Stephenie Meyer is set to make bank on her other book, THE HOST. Yeah, Meyer can always go back to the adventures of Bella, Edward and Jacob, but it’s always nice to have something else to be known for. I’m tempted to try to explain what the book is about, but every time I set out to write a synopsis and then read back through it, it seems to make less sense. For what it’s worth, Kruger will play “The Seeker”, who is tasked with trying to convert our rebel heroine Melanie (Saoirse Ronan).
Kruger joins a cast that was already pretty impressive and includes Saoirse Ronan, William Hurt, Max Irons and Jake Abel. The film is set to be directed by Andrew Niccol, who recently directed IN TIME with Justin Timberlake and Amanda Seyfried. THE HOST hits theaters on March 29th, 2013.
