Gary Oldman joins Dominic Cooper and Amber Heard in Motor City

Gary Oldman

One might have thought that after Gary Oldman’s turn as Commissioner Gordon in Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy and the recently well-received TINKER TAILOR SOLDIER SPY, Gary Oldman might have gotten use to playing the good guy hero after a lifetime of playing villains and anti-heroes.  But apparently that’s not the case as Oldman has just signed on to star as the villain in MOTOR CITY.  The film is about a petty criminal that gets framed for a crime, sent to prison and then gets out to seek revenge on those that did him wrong and also to get his girl back.  The script has gotten a lot of buzz and supposedly, the lead character only has one line of dialogue in the entire film, although I can’t imagine that making it through to the finished product.

Albert Hughes (MENACE II SOCIETY) is set to direct the film with Dominic Cooper in the lead role, Amber Heard as his love interest and Oldman will play the crime boss.  Filming starts in April.
