Matthew Broderick spoofs Ferris Bueller's Day Off in the Honda CR-V Super Bowl commercial
Some of you may not remember, but several years ago, there was actually talk floating around of a sequel to the classic 80’s film FERRIS BUELLER’S DAY OFF. The idea was going to have Bueller as a successful businessman skipping out on a day of work. Thankfully, that idea never came to fruition, which led the way to bringing back the iconic character (kind of) in this Super Bowl commercial for the new Honda CR-V. It’s a cute little commercial and I think it’s great that Broderick can spoof on the character that made him a superstar.
The only downside to this, of course, is that since the commercial has become so popular, it might give a studio exec at Paramount the idea to revisit a sequel. Hopefully, it won’t come to that. Also, be sure to check out the Super Bowl commercial for G.I. JOE: RETALIATION.
