Emma Watson set for Sofia Coppola's The Bling Ring

Harry Potter who? Emma Watson has taken off like a race horse since the conclusion of the Harry Potter films, with THE PERKS OF BEING A WALLFLOWER hitting theaters soon, then lining up YOUR VOICE IN MY HEAD for her Potter director David Yates and most recently, signing on for Guillermo Del Toro‘s re-imagining of Beauty and the Beast. And today, she’s lined up as the lead in Sofia Coppola’s next film, THE BLING RING. The film is the true story of a group of rich teenagers dubbed The Hollywood Hills Burglar Bunch (later referred to as “The Bling Ring”) that stole from various celebrities in Beverly Hills, including Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan, Orlando Bloom and Megan Fox.

No word on who Watson will play, but my guess is that she’ll play Alexis Neiers, who actually starred in the reality show ‘Pretty Wild”. Of the kids, Alexis is clearly the most attractive of the bunch and the one that seemed to have received the most attention. There was also controversy surrounding her involvement as she insisted she didn’t do anything, only to change her story when video evidence surfaced. All in all, the group stole over $3 million from various homes in a two year span. For everything she did, Neiers only served 30 days in jail. Sofia Coppola will write and direct the film and hopefully, erase her last film SOMEWHERE from everyone’s memory.
