The Dark Knight Rises images feature new looks at Christian Bale, Tom Hardy and Anne Hathaway

More images from the third and final film in the Christopher Nolan trilogy, THE DARK KNIGHT RISES, have surfaced and even though they are nothing new and spectacular it’s still exciting to see. As excited as I am for THE DARK KNIGHT RISES, it’s also a little sad to know that this will be the last film in which we’ll see Christian Bale as the caped crusader. Lucky for us we’ll get to see Tom Hardy as Bane and Anne Hathaway as Catwoman, but it’s all very bittersweet. Now I guess we’ll just have to wait and see if THE DARK KNIGHT RISES can break any of THE AVENGERS box office records. There’s probably a very good chance since THE DARK KNIGHT RISES looks to be geared more for the adult audience, and that’s where all the disposable income lives.
THE DARK KNIGHT RISES takes us eight years after the previous film where Batman (Christian Bale) has been blamed for the death of Harvey Dent/Two Face. While Bruce Wayne/Batman is in exile a new villain, Bane (Tom Hardy), has set up shop in Gotham and causing all sorts of trouble. With the city shunning him, will Batman be able to suit up for another fight? Most likely, especially since he has help from John Blake (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) and Selina Kyle/Catwoman (Anne Hathaway).
THE DARK KNIGHT RISES stars Christian Bale, Anne Hathaway, Tom Hardy, Michael Caine, Gary Oldman, Morgan Freeman, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Marion Cotillard and Juno Temple. This is the third and final Batman film for director Christopher Nolan and it opens in theaters on July 20th, 2012. Surely tickets will start going on sale next month, so if that’s your thing then keep an eye out. I have a feeling a lot of people will enjoy multiple viewings of THE DARK KNIGHT RISES, so purchasing tickets early wouldn’t be such a bad idea in this situation. (Total Film)
