Rachel McAdams and Noomi Rapace try to seduce in new poster and images from Passion

Another film that will entice buyers at the Cannes Film Festival this week will be Brian De Palma’s upcoming thriller PASSION. With two actresses like Rachel McAdams and Noomi Rapace, Brian De Palma will no doubt have little trouble (if any) trying to get funding. The images and poster for PASSION look both enticing and unsettling, or maybe that’s just because it’s tough to imagine good girl Rachel Adams taking on such a provocative role. These pictures show Rachel McAdams is up to the bad girl challenge as she has no problems lounging around in her lingerie.
PASSION is a remake of the 2010 French film CRIME D’AMOUR from Alain Corneau. PASSION focuses on two co-workers in an international company. Christine (Rachel McAdams) is the strong confident business woman who is mentoring Isabelle (Noomi Rapace). Though Christine has no problems stealing Isabelle’s ideas and pawning them off as her own, she is more than a little annoyed when Isabelle goes to be with one of Christine’s lovers. Needless to say things will go downhill for both of them from there.
I think this is an excellent role for Rachel McAdams as we haven’t really seen her bad girl self since her stint in MEAN GIRLS. PASSION will show Rachel McAdams as a very different kind of mean girl, but I don’t know if she has what it takes to go head-to-head with Noomi Rapace. The original Lisbeth Salander seems very hardcore in my eyes and I’ll be very interested to see who will win this Brian De Palma catfight. I think it’ll be Noomi Rapace, but I know Rachel McAdams has more spunk than she’s given credit for.
