Anchorman: The Legend Continues gets a simple, non-flashy first trailer

Anchorman 2 teaser trailer

Last week we got to see a new teaser poster for the upcoming sequel to ANCHORMAN: THE LEGEND OF RON BURGUNDY, entitled ANCHORMAN: THE LEGEND CONTINUES but today we get an actual teaser trailer. It’s nothing fancy or exciting, but I’m sure you hardcore Anchorman fans will think it’s hilarious.  I find it a little annoying, but that’s probably because Brick Tamland (Steve Carell) gets way too much screen time and I think his character is the worst. People that dumb cross from being funny into being pathetic and embarrassing to watch, but that’s just me.

ANCHORMAN: THE LEGEND CONTINUES will reunite us with our favorite News Team in San Diego: Ron Burgundy (Will Ferrell), Brick Tamland (Steve Carell), Brian Fantana (Paul Rudd) and Champ Kind (David Koechner). Writer/director Adam McKay has mentioned several times that there is no script for ANCHORMAN: THE LEGEND CONTINUES which is very evident in this clip since it just has our cast standing around talking to the camera. What we do know is that the film will somehow involve the show “Bowling For Dollars” and will be set several years after the first film and could possibly include a custody battle. I’m guessing the custody battle would be over the spawn of Ron Burgundy and Veronica Corningstone (Christina Applegate), but there is no confirmation that Ms. Applegate will be returning for the sequel. ANCHORMAN: THE LEGEND CONTINUES will be released sometime in 2013.

Will Ferrell can be seen next in the upcoming film THE CAMPAIGN alongside fellow comedian Zach Galifianakis which follows two North Carolinian politicians who are running for a seat in Congress. It looks decent enough but I doubt it will do anything huge at the box office just because it’s not getting enough press. THE CAMPAIGN hits theaters on August 10, 2012. Check out the trailer for ANCHORMAN: THE LEGEND CONTINUES below.
