The Hunger Games starring Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson coming to Blu-ray in August

Lionsgate Home Entertainment has announced that the spring blockbuster THE HUNGER GAMES, directed by Gary Ross and starring Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Eliazabeth Banks and Woody Harrelson, will be coming to Blu-ray on August 18, 2012.
In case you’ve been in a cave, THE HUNGER GAMES follows Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) who is one of the chosen tributes in her district to take part in the 74th annual Hunger Games. The Hunger Games is a competition put on by the government that puts 24 young adults ages 12-18 in an arena to fight to the death until only one is left standing. I won’t ruin the ending for those who haven’t seen it, but it’s quite the bloodbath in these books so if that’s your thing then I would recommend catching it when it comes to Blu-ray at the end of this summer.
THE HUNGER GAMES did fantastic at the box office this year and was pretty much loved by fans of the books which were written by Suzanne Collins. There’s no doubt that the sequel, CATCHING FIRE, will do equally well when it hits theaters next year.
THE HUNGER GAMES will be available in a Blu-ray/DVD/Digital copy combo pack and has a set of special features that include:
