Brad Pitt and Michael Fassbender welcome Michael K. Williams to Twelve Years A Slave

Michael K Williams

If you don’t know who Michael K. Williams is already, you’ll definitely know him in a couple of years.  The talented actor has a couple of big name projects on the way, most notably starring as Ole Dirty Bastard in THE DIRTY WHITE BOY, alongside Dwayne Johnson in SNITCH and THEY DIE BY DAWN with Idris Elba.  But Michael K. Williams has already made a name for himself, most notably as Omar from ‘The Wire’ or as Chalky in ‘Boardwalk Empire’.  If that wasn’t enough, Michael K. White is joining TWELVE YEARS A SLAVE for director Steve McQueen.

The film follows the story of Solomon, a slave that wins his freedom, only to get tricked into being a slave again and then having to endure several owners before finally fighting for his freedom in court.  The cast lined up for the film is a virtual who’s who in Hollywood and includes Chiwetel Ejiofor (as Solomon), Brad Pitt, Michael Fassbender, Paul Giamatti, Paul Dano, Scoot McNairy, Benedict Cumberbatch, Sarah Paulson, Taran Killam, Alfre Woodard, Garrett Dillahunt, Ruth Negga, and Adepero Oduye. Filming has already started and will hit theaters some time in 2013.  (Deadline)
