Chris Evans will share screen time with Anthony Mackie in Captain America: The Winter Soldier
News for the sequel CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER has been coming in the last couple of days, but nothing as big as Anthony Mackie signing on. Looks like Anthony Mackie is in negotiations to portray Falcon in the upcoming sequel alongside Chris Evans, which will be directed by Joe and Anthony Russo.
So who is Falcon? Let me give you a short history: Samuel Thomas (aka Falcon) was born in Harlem, NYC to two great parents who were stand-up citizens and believed in their community. When they are both brutally murdered on separate occasions, Thomas, consumed by grief, moves to LA and creates a new identity called “Snap” who happens to be a criminal and pimp. While Snap is on a trip to Rio de Janeiro, his plane crashes on Exile Island where he is taken under the wing of the Exiles who were outcasts of Red Skull. There Wilson befriends Redwing, an actual falcon and acquires powers that gives him a mental link to his bird and somewhere along the way he develops the ability to fly. There are several different versions of Falcons origins from this point, so we’ll just have to wait and see where Joe and Anthony Russo go from there. What we do know is that eventually Falcon teams up with Captain America (Chris Evans) and is a good guy.
There’s still a lot of secrecy surrounding the actual plot of CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER, but some of that will surely be revealed in the upcoming months. CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER will be released in theaters on April 4, 2014 and will star: Chris Evans, Anthony Mackie and Samuel L. Jackson. (THR)
