Chris Hemsworth and Josh Hutcherson in new images from Red Dawn

Remember way back when it was announced that the 1984 film RED DAWN was being remade with Chris Hemsworth (THE AVENGERS) and Josh Hutcherson (THE HUNGER GAMES) and then we heard nothing? Well, looks like the studio is finally gearing up for the release of the film with a couple of new images. Why was it delayed you ask? Well, apparently the original bad guys in this remake were the Chinese, but since China is starting to get a decent foothold in the movie making market the studio decided to change from China to North Korea. Don’t want to insult a future investor and all. There was also delays because of that whole MGM bankruptcy which delayed many a film. Long story short, we’ll get to see the good looks of Chris Hemsworth and Josh Hutcherson this fall.

Here’s the official synopsis: In RED DAWN, a city in Washington state awakens to the surreal sight of foreign paratroopers dropping from the sky – shockingly, the U.S. has been invaded and their hometown is the initial target. Quickly and without warning, the citizens find themselves prisoners and their town under enemy occupation. Determined to fight back, a group of young patriots seek refuge in the surrounding woods, training and reorganizing themselves into a guerilla group of fighters. Taking inspiration from their high school mascot, they call themselves the Wolverines, banding together to protect one another, liberate their town from its captors, and take back their freedom.

Directed by Dan Bradley, RED DAWN stars: Chris Hemsworth, Josh Hutcherson, Adrianne Palicki, Josh Peck, Isabel Lucas and Jeffrey Dean Morgan. It will hit theaters on November 21st, 2012.
