The Avengers 2 gets an official release date

After hearing that Joss Whedon was going to return to write and helm THE AVENGERS 2, it was only a matter of time before Marvel set up an official release date. Drumroll, please…THE AVENGERS 2 will makes its way to theaters on May 1st, 2015. That feels like a long way off but thankfully we’ll have CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER, IRON MAN 3 and THOR: THE DARK WORLD to keep us all pumped up and immersed in the superhero world. Stay tuned because I’m sure within the next six months we’ll get an actual title for THE AVENGERS 2, which will probably give us a better idea of what to look for plot wise.
Keep in mind that THE AVENGERS will be making its way to Blu-ray next month on September 25th, 2012. In case you somehow missed it, THE AVENGERS was directed by Joss Whedon and stars: Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Mark Ruffalo and Samuel L. Jackson. (Deadline)
