Daniel Day-Lewis carries the weight of the world on his shoulders in the new Lincoln poster

Steven Spielberg’s upcoming film LINCOLN hits theaters in just a couple months and so far all we’ve seen is an image of Daniel Day-Lewis as the title character. Today we’re getting a poster, but quite honestly it doesn’t give us that different of an picture than the first promo shot did. Daniel Day-Lewis still looks like a fantastic Abraham Lincoln but with no trailer or other shots it makes this writer wary. Not that I don’t have the utmost confidence in Steven Spielberg, but how will the masses know about this upcoming film about one of America’s favorite President’s if there’s no trailers or more photos? We’ve already gotten a trailer for THE HOBBIT: AN UNEXPECTED JOURNEY and DJANGO UNCHAINED and those don’t even hit theaters until December. It just makes me a little nervous, though I’m sure Daniel Day-Lewis will knock this role out of the park.

Directed by Steven Spielberg, LINCOLN stars: Daniel Day-Lewis, Sally Field, Tommy Lee Jones, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Hal Holbrook, James Spader, John Hawkes, Tim Blake Nelson, Jackie Earle Haley, David Oyelowo and Adam Driver. LINCOLN will hit theaters days after the presidential election in a limited release on November 9th, 2012 and then should be available in all theaters the next week. (Playlist)
