The Hunger Games' Alexander Ludwig joins Mark Wahlberg and Taylor Kitsch in Lone Survivor
After playing a key role in one of the biggest movies of 2012, Alexander Ludwig is lining up a nice slate of films, post Hunger Games. Alexander Ludwig has been in the business for a while, starring in films like the remake of THE RACE TO WITCH MOUNTAIN and THE SEEKER, but most people know him as Cato in THE HUNGER GAMES. After playing David Spade’s son in GROWN UPS 2, Ludwig will join the ensemble Navy SEAL film LONE SURVIVOR. The film tells the story of the tragic 2005 SEAL mission “Operation Red Wings in which four Navy SEALS were sent in on a reconnaissance mission to get intelligence on Taliban leader Admad Shad. But as soon as they got there, they were ambushed and three of the four soldiers sent in were killed. The ordeal lasted weeks and a helicopter that was sent in to rescue them was shot down, killing all 16 soldiers on board.
In the film, Alexander Ludwig will play Shane Patton, who was one of the soldiers killed in the helicopter crash. LONE SURVIVOR is set to star Mark Wahlberg (who will play Marcus Luttrell, the only survivor), Taylor Kitsch, Ben Foster, Emile Hirsch, Sammy Sheik and Eric Bana. The Peter Berg directed film doesn’t have a release date yet. (Deadline)
