Martin Freeman is Bilbo Baggins on the new poser for The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey

So far, the marketing campaign for THE HOBBIT: A UNEXPECTED JOURNEY feels very familiar to the Lord of the Rings films, right down to the posters. But it worked pretty well with the first trilogy, so I guess there’s no reason to change anything. The latest poster features Martin Freeman as Bilbo Baggins, clutching Sting and staring at right at you. It reminds me of the poster for Fellowship of the Ring where Frodo was holding the ring and staring ahead. Critiquing a poster seems kind of pointless, but overall I have to say I’m a little disappointed in the poster. I liked the Comic Con poster with Gandalf strolling through the Shire, but this one seems a little dull.
