Jamie Foxx may take on Andrew Garfield in The Amazing Spider-Man 2

Looks like THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 just got a little more interesting as we are learning that Jamie Foxx is in talks to play the villain Electro. I’m not terribly familiar with the Spider-man comics, but there are a couple of different routes the studio can take with the Electro story. The first could simply be that Electro is trying to take over New York City’s power grid and control things, or J. Jonah Jameson could hire Electro to take down the nuisance that is Spider-Man (played by Andrew Garfield). There are several others to choose from, so who knows where the studio will go. We do know things will be getting a little dark as it’s been confirmed that the franchise will be killing off Gwen Stacy (Emma Stone), so really nothing is off limits right now.
Directed by Marc Webb, THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 will star Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone and possibly Jamie Foxx and Shailene Woodley. The sequel will be swinging into theaters on May 2, 2014. (Variety)
