Will Smith and Jaden Smith try to patch things up in the new After Earth trailer

As promised, Sony has debuted a new trailer for M. Night Shyamalan’s AFTER EARTH, starring the power father-son duo of Will Smith and Jaden Smith. The new trailer gives us a lot more as far as tone and action than the first teaser trailer, but I’m not sure it’s going to change anyone’s mind about the film. Shyamalan has a lot of healing to do with his fans and I think a lot of us are still jaded after his last couple of films. But AFTER EARTH looks very different than what he has done before and from the trailer, I couldn’t figure out the surprise ending, so he has that going for him. If I have one noticeable complaint, it’s with the weird accent from everyone involved. It’s not British, but it doesn’t sound American either. It’s somewhere in between, but it sounds distracting. But maybe I’m just nitpicking.
