Alex Pettyfer and Gabriella Wilde are set to star in Endless Love
Time hasn’t been kind to Alex Pettyfer. Before I AM NUMBER FOUR hit theaters, he was a hot commodity in Hollywood. But after that and BEASTLY bombed at the box office, Hollywood got cold feet and then a few adolescent, obnoxious shenanigans followed and pretty soon, no one would touch him. He did shake his money-maker in MAGIC MIKE, but even though the film was a huge success, no one seems to remember he was even in it. Speaking of performances no one remembers, he and Gabriella Wilde (THE THREE MUSKETEERS) have just signed on to star in a remake of the 1981 Brooke Shields drama, ENDLESS LOVE.
The original film was about a teenage girl that falls madly in love with a guy that ends up going a little nuts for her. Not many people remember the movie, but everyone knows the theme song, so I wonder if they’ll bother remaking the song as well? Chances are good this version will vary from the original since this one will be directed by COUNTRY STRONG helmer Shana Feste and was written by ‘Gossip Girl’ vet Josh Safran. I’m still expecting a sappy, pre-teen oriented film, but maybe they’ll surprise me. There’s no word on when production will start. (Variety)
